SWAT EXPRESSWAY (PHASE-I) WORK PROGRESSING STEADILY

 
Peshawar - 23 January 2025: The development / maintenance of Swat Expressway Phase-I continues to make significant progress as various teams work diligently on different aspects of the project. The latest updates on the activities reveal steady advancement toward the completion of this vital infrastructure.
Contractor Work Update:
Key construction and repair activities are underway to ensure the expressway's safety and efficiency:
  • Rockfall Shelter: The leveling of the area and excavation for lateral drainage pipe replacement is actively progressing, aimed at improving safety against rockfalls.
  • MTP CKSK: Maintenance activities include the repair and red oxide treatment of signboards, along with cleaning, priming, and painting of the G.I. ceiling.
  • RD 68+541 South Bound (Rigid Pavement): Damaged panels of the rigid pavement are being dismantled to pave the way for their replacement, ensuring smoother and safer travel.
The project team is repairing 23 damaged or dislodged fence posts. This work aims to restore the fence’s integrity and improve security along the expressway. Another team has undertaken the task of cleaning pipe culverts to enhance water drainage. They are currently working on the second of seven culverts.
The concerted efforts of the contractor, project team, and maintenance crew reflect a commitment to ensuring the timely completion of Phase-I of the Swat Expressway. This project, once completed, is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother travel for residents and visitors in the region.
