PESHAWAR- The Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA) continues to set new benchmarks in infrastructure development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with several high-impact projects either completed or underway. Under the leadership of Managing Director (MD) Asad Ali, the organization has not only accelerated the pace of development but also implemented robust measures to ensure transparency and quality.

MD Asad Ali’s tenure has seen the completion of several key road projects, including the 17-kilometer Beer Kalinjer Road in Haripur and the 35-kilometer Krappa Shakardara Road. These projects have significantly enhanced connectivity in their respective regions, providing safer and more efficient travel for residents.

Among the newly initiated projects is the Karakar Tunnel, a 2.2-kilometer-long tunnel that will serve as a vital link between Buner and Swat districts. This ambitious project is expected to boost trade, tourism, and economic integration between the regions. Another landmark initiative is the Torghar Bridge, an international-standard project utilizing machinery introduced for the first time in Pakistan. The bridge will connect three major divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—Hazara, Malakand, and Mardan—further strengthening the province’s infrastructure network.

PKHA’s commitment to excellence is evident in its ability to compete with national entities like the National Highway Authority (NHA) and international organizations in terms of standards and efficiency. MD Asad Ali has personally ensured strict monitoring of ongoing projects, emphasizing adherence to international construction practices and the highest quality standards.

In addition to infrastructure development, MD Asad Ali has introduced significant reforms to combat corruption and promote transparency within PKHA. A zero-tolerance policy toward corruption has been implemented, resulting in swift action against those involved in unlawful practices, further enhancing the public’s trust in the organization.

The recent projects undertaken by PKHA have brought notable benefits to the public, including improved travel facilities, enhanced economic activities, and new employment opportunities. The innovative use of technology and meticulous planning has positioned PKHA as a model institution in the infrastructure sector.

Aligned with the Chief Minister’s vision for the province, PKHA’s ongoing efforts under MD Asad Ali’s stewardship have ushered in a new era of development. With a focus on quality and transparency, these initiatives are laying a strong foundation for sustained growth, elevating the organization to rival both national and international standards.
