SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO CHIEF MINISTER SOHAIL AFRIDI PRESIDES OVER PKHA BRIEFING ON MEGA PROJECTS AND FUTURE STRATEGIES
PESHAWAR, DECEMBER 19 – A high-level meeting was held under the auspicious presence of the Honorable Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Communication and Works (C&W), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Sohail Afridi. The event, led by Managing Director of the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA), Engr. Asad Ali, brought together the Authority's officers from various divisions to discuss ongoing projects and future plans.
The meeting began with a comprehensive briefing on the role and responsibilities of PKHA. The presentation highlighted key mega projects currently in progress, including the construction of the Patrak-Thal Kumrat Road, the Karakar Tunnel, and the RCC Bridge in Torghar. Critical issues, such as delays in the release of funds, were also brought to the Honorable Special Assistant to Chief Minister’s attention; who assured the attendees that he would escalate these concerns to higher authorities to expedite resolutions.
In his address, the Honorable Special Assistant to Chief Minister emphasized the importance of innovation and urged the Authority to adopt revolutionary ideas that would enhance system efficiency and benefit the public. He also stressed the need to explore new revenue-generating opportunities to ensure PKHA’s financial sustainability. Highlighting the critical role of vigilance, the Honorable Special Assistant to Chief Minister directed the Authority to devise self-sufficient mechanisms for appointing police personnel to improve security and oversight.
Furthermore, the Honorable Special Assistant to Chief Minister recommended that PKHA hold quarterly council meetings to streamline approvals and address pressing issues related to the organization’s growth. He lauded the team for their ongoing efforts but encouraged them to think "out of the box" to ensure continued progress and success.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing infrastructure development and fostering sustainable growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
