Torghar, October 28 — Senior officials, including the Secretary Communications and Works (C&W), Managing Director of Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA), and representatives of M/S Al-Mehreen-Hasas (JV), visited the site of the under-construction RCC bridge over the River Indus near Kotkay Kandar, District Torghar. This strategic project, part of ADP Scheme No. 1248/220942 (2024-25), will connect the scattered population on both sides of the river and link the underdeveloped districts of Torghar and Buner. By bridging this divide, the project is expected to enhance trade, tourism, and access to essential services, uplifting the socio-economic landscape of the region.
The bridge will act as a vital link between the Hazara, Malakand, and Mardan Divisions, all of which hold significant tourism potential. Officials stressed the importance of this initiative in promoting social connectivity, easing travel, and fostering economic growth. With improved access to markets, schools, and healthcare, the bridge will transform the lives of local communities while boosting regional tourism and commerce. The visiting delegation reviewed construction progress and reiterated the government’s commitment to timely completion, promising a brighter future for the region.
