PKHA is mandated to:

  • Prepare and notify in the official gazette, list of Provincial Highways.
  • Advise government on matters relating to Provincial Highways and other roads.
  • Acquire any land in accordance with legal procedure.
  • Prepare a master plan for the development, construction, operation and maintenance of Provincial Highways and Roads in KPK.
  • Incur expenditure on acquisition of land and disposal of assets.
  • Procure plant, machinery, instruments and materials required for its use.
  • Levy, collect or cause to be collected tolls on Provincial Highways and other roads.
  • Notify Right Of Way (ROW).
  • Conduct studies, surveys, experiments and technical research.
  • Seek and obtain advice and assistance.
  • Raise funds (local and foreign)
  • Ensure mutation of land as soon as the land is taken over.
  • Exercise power to award contracts for projects.
  • Pre-Qualification of Consultants for planning, designing and supervision of projects.
  • Registration / Enlistment of Contractors for execution of projects.
  • Grant NOC for installation of Petrol / CNG Station on provincial highways
